erecting scaffolding aboard ships and within our fabrication

is responsible for the set up and dismantle of temporary
scaffolding so that contractors can access specific portions of a
building to perform their desired work. A scaffold erector is
required to work as a member of both the erection/dismantling and
ground crew. A scaffold erector will build and dismantle scaffolds
and/or suspended scaffolds in accordance with company policies and
OSHA standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at later date.---
Setting scaffold base and anchors, installing cross braces,
guardrails, toe boards, and other components using various hand and
portable power tools including and not limited to hammers,
ratchets, power drills, and hammer drills--- Securely anchor
scaffold to buildings or structures--- Safely hoisting and/or
lowering materials onto and from the scaffold during erection and
dismantling--- Safely and effectively supply material to the
erection/dismantling team in a logical and organized fashion which
includes anticipating erection/dismantling crew next move--- Load
and unload equipment to and from project sites in--- Adhere to safe
work practices and procedures so that the job site is free of
potential hazards--- Take corrective action if potential hazards
arise so that you and your team are safe from injury--- Maintain
good housekeeping on project sites and cleanup site at end of each
day--- Communicate efficiently and respectfully with customers,
project managers, and fellow employeesRequired Education,
Experience, & Skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years industrial or shipyard.
- Must be able to obtain Defense Biometric Identification Systems
"DBIDS" access card.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow instructions in an efficient manor
- Comfortable with heights and physical labor
- Problem solving skills

- Comfortable driving truck and trailer or stake body truck,
forklift
- Previous experience in construction/scaffold industries is
required
- Scaffold Competent Person Certification capable of identifying
existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or work
conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to
employees and who has the authorization to take prompt corrective
measures to eliminate them.
- OSHA CertifiedPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Require ability to stand and or walk on hard uneven surfaces
for extensive periods of time.
- At times work is performed in tight spaces in adverse
temperatures.
- Must be able to handle working on multiple levels of a vessel
requiring up and down ladder wells throughout the workday.WORK
ENVIRONMENT:
- May be exposed to excessive noise, paint gases and fumes, and
varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be
provided as necessary.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Employees who perform work while on a scaffold must be trained by a
qualified person to recognize the hazards associated with the type
of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control
those hazards. Training shall include:
- The nature of any electrical hazards, fall hazards, and falling
object hazards in the work area.
- The correct procedures for dealing with those hazards.
- The proper use of the scaffold, and the proper handling of
materials on the scaffold.
- The maximum intended load and the load-carrying capacity of the
scaffold.
- Any other pertinent requirements.
- Ability to work confidently at heights
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Good level of physical fitness
- Awareness of health and safety
- Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
- Good written and verbal communication skills.Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $74360Please note: This
range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual
salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not
limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and
internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as
