Job Description:
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing organized, efficient service to staff
members by ensuring all requested records are addressed and given
to the staff members in a timely fashion (24-48 hours). All charts
are pulled 24-48 hours prior to patient visits for all PA's,
Doctors and Testing. All patient correspondence (i.e. referring
physician notes, tests, labs, correspondence) are provided to the
treating physicians, PA's and MA's in order to be able to review
and sign (24-48 hours).
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, 1-2 years experience in a medical environment,
intermediate data entry skills, excellent filing, customer service
and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
?All charts placed in the filing cart should be filed prior to
leaving for the day.
?All charts should be picked up from MA's, Testing/Referral
Coordinator, Billing, Doctor, PA, etc. at least three times per day
to ensure all charts are appropriately stored in the Medical
Records Department and not throughout the office.
?Ensure all correspondence obtained through Physician's Office via
fax or mail are appropriately attached to the correct patient's
chart in order for the physician to read and assess labs, tests,
etc. prior to the patient's next follow up appointment. All
correspondence in the bin and pendaflex folder should be worked
daily in order to prevent paperwork from getting backlogged.
?Medical Records Clerk should assist the front office with patient
check in, check out, or telephone answering, routing and
scheduling. MR Clerk should be able to fill in at all positions in
the front office when needed. Ensure office runs smoothly
throughout the day by assisting with other positions in the front
office if someone is absent. (i.e. open mail, sit at check in/check
out, do assigned confirmations, etc.)
Ensure all Medical Records requests received via fax, mail, or
voicemail are acknowledged and processed within 24-48 hours and
that a release has been received by Physician's office prior to
releasing records.
?All other duties as assigned.
Experience with EMR. Candidate will be scanning old documents into
the EMR system. Excellent customer service skills. Very Computer
Savvy. Team Player. Can work in a very hectic/fast paced work
